What is low carbon steel plate?
Low carbon steel plate is a kind of widely used material, which is divided into ordinary low-carbon steel plate and special steel plate, including low-alloy high-strength steel and corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant clad steel plate. Ordinary low carbon steel plate is divided into cold rolling and hot rolling. Cold rolled steel plate has good surface quality and accurate thickness and size. It is mostly used to manufacture car bodies and the like. Hot rolled plates are mostly used to make frames and the like.
Low carbon steel is a carbon steel with carbon content less than 0.25%. It has low strength and hardness and good plasticity and toughness.

Main application of cold rolled low carbon steel plate
When cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate is used for part forming, it is required that the plastic deformation of the material is large, and the surface shall be free of wrinkles, cracks and other parts. Different grades of steel plates are used for different parts. For example, the standard of Japanese automobile steel plate is divided into three categories. The first category (SPCC) is ordinary cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate, which is usually rolled by boiling steel, the second category (SPCD) is rolling steel plate, and the third category (spce or spcen) is cold-rolled low-carbon steel plate for deep drawing.
Main application of hot rolled low carbon steel plate
Compared with cold-rolled steel plate, the manufacturing process is simpler and the cost is lower. However, foreign experience believes that the hot-rolled method is only suitable for manufacturing steel plates with a thickness of more than 1.6mm, which is uneconomical for thinner steel plates. The surface quality and dimensional accuracy of hot-rolled low-carbon steel plates are not as good as cold-rolled steel plates. Hot-rolled low-carbon steel plates on cars, except frame longitudinal beams, beams and various supports, It also punches wheels, rims and discs requiring certain strength, as well as shell cover plates with low stress and low surface requirements. The former is 3-5mm thick steel plate, while the latter is used for medium plate and thin plate. The use of hot-rolled plate on automobile is mostly thick plate. In the standard of hot slsn plate for automobile formulated by Japan Automobile Association, Saph is used as vehicle beam and wheel, and SPH is hot-rolled mild steel plate for manufacturing non stressed shell.
